Amorphous (A Poem)

Amorphous
She lies flat,
with the cold sand covering her back
Waves rolling up the beach
Memories flooding her mind
Of past storms she’d survived.
She blinked, and the world flipped upside down.
Lightning cracks down,
Thunder roars across the atmosphere,
Waves turn black
Voices begin to echo around her.
“You aren’t good enough.”
“Quit trying.”
“Worthless.”
She’s falling unable to fight the weight,
The sand turns to hot tar,
Pulling her in, and crushing her lungs,
The atmosphere collapses.
It only takes seconds, before there’s no air left.
