Who Are You? (A Poem)

Who Are You?
You look at me
And you talk to me, like a friend.
You wait until my back is turned to you
To raise that point and bayonet me as quickly as you can.
I worked on myself,
I tried,
I was honest about who was.
But you can’t really see someone’s face
Until all the lights are turned out
And there’s no more filters.
In this obscurity, I have seen you.
I have been cruel, and cold in my past
There still remains a difference between honesty and cruelty.
To be the person to assimilate and mutilate the beings around you,
There’s no comeback from that.
Who are you?
Out of curiosity I ask you, Who are you?
Because you’re not honest, you’re not sweet
And you are not so kind.
